Midal Mozambique, a worldwide supplier with secured preferential supply contracts with clients in Europe, South and East Africa, Asia and the USA, has published an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for its 1370 EC grade aluminium rods. Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) study, which constitutes the baseline of EPD’s, was carried out under the consultancy of Metsims Sustainability Consulting in accordance with EN 14025 and ISO 14040/44 standards. Aluminium rods, which are produced in different designs and sizes for the needs of the users, are now one step ahead in domestic and international projects thanks to the EPD that discloses environmental performance in an internationally accepted format. This also happens to be the first EPD published from Mozambique on the International EPD System (IES).
The project, which is carried out by Metsims – the leading pan European LCA and EPD consultancy- is completed and registered within a very short turnaround and delivery times of two months. The EPD document including results for different environmental impacts, corporate information, product description and specification has been prepared by reflecting the corporate identity, and published on the International EPD System (IES).
