Environmental Label (Eco-Label)
Environmental labels are voluntary certifications that show that a product or service has less environmental impact, contains fewer harmful chemicals for human health and is more sustainable.
It is used to provide accurate, reliable and provable information about the environmental dimension of a product or service, proving that products have relatively lower environmental impacts and prioritising them as environmentally friendly products, and in this respect, it increases the prestige of the company in terms of sustainability. Although there are different types and systems of environmental labels as Type I-II and III, ISO 14024 Type-I environmental labels are environmental labels given by third party organisations to products that meet a predetermined set of requirements.
Type-I environmental labelling criteria and categories vary according to the defined labelling system. National and international environmental labels can be developed. The most preferred label types that we provide consultancy support as Metsims are listed below.
