Corporate Water Footprint

The ISO 14046 standard is the first approval system for water footprinting and was formed due to concerns about the impacts of water consumption in production processes. The standard includes information about long-term water use, water management systems, effective industry processes and analysis of water management and usage. The ISO 14046 standard is a source, which displays a product's water footprint objectively and transparently. The purpose for water footprinting for any product group is to have some evaluation criteria and understand its functional unit, as well as to gain further insight into the product and its water footprint. Thus, producers can conduct calculations and apply management systems according to LCA principles.
