First LCA training in Turkey Metsims delivered a two day Life cycle analysis (LCA) training in Istanbul between 20-21 August 2010. The two day training was the first ever on LCA in Turkey. LCA is very new to Turkish market and very limited expertise is available, mainly a few academics. The course was limited to 14 attendants and it was oversubscribed. The training was designed to be practical and the attendants were provided with fully functional 1 month free license of SimaPro, the most popular LCA software. As part of the practicals LCA of a cotton towel was made, environmental impacts as well as carbon footprint for the towel was calculated.
