First LCA training in Turkey

Metsims delivered a two day Life cycle analysis (LCA) training in Istanbul between 20-21 August 2010.

The two day training was the first ever on LCA in Turkey. LCA is very new to Turkish market and very limited expertise is available, mainly a few academics. The course was limited to 14 attendants and it was oversubscribed. There were attendants from academia, consultancies and industry.

The training was designed to be practical and the attendants were provided with fully functional 1 month free license of SimaPro, the most popular LCA software. As part of the practicals LCA of a cotton towel was made, environmental impacts as well as carbon footprint for the towel was calculated.
